Topics covered during the four- and five-day seminars include feeder basics and system overview, operating the feeder, feeder mechanics, motor control, weighing systems and feeder electronics and communications. The workshops are designed for factory engineers, instrumentation technicians and electrical/mechanical maintenance technicians who have responsibility for operating, or performing maintenance on the feeder line. The length of training time will be based on the level of responsibility of the participant as well as the type of K-Tron equipment used. Tuition includes customized training and documentation, hotel accommodations at the Adam's Mark Hotel, a continental breakfast and lunch each day and one group dinner. The K-Tron Institute has conducted Florida workshops for several years, in addition to their regular training courses in Pitman, NJ and at customer sites. The Institute staff will pack a 24-foot truck full of K-Tron feeders and controls and transport them to the Florida hotel for this hands-on workshop. David Wilson, Director and Vice President of the K-Tron Institute, says that a number of companies like to use the Florida workshops as a way of rewarding employees for a job well done, while at the same time making sure that they get the training they need.
