PITMAN, NJ (September 27, 2001)—K-Tron International will show the new Smart LOPO Module feeder controller as part of its family of SmartConnex controls at K 2001, October 25- November 1, in Dusseldorf, Germany.  See K-Tron in Booth H10A/74.  

The Smart LOPO controller features integrated refill control for K-Tron Hurricane vacuum loaders, offering the processor a complete and economic solution for feeder and vacuum loader control. The integrated feeder/ loader control, which marks a first in the industry, can be used with self-contained or single central Hurricane vacuum conveyors.

The Smart LOPO controller will be shown with a four-ingredient K2G feeding system and integrated Hurricane vacuum loaders.   Smart LoPo utilizes the same advanced loss-in-weight algorithm used by K-Tron’s more advanced controller, the Smart Control Module (SCM). It includes a screw modulation algorithm to correct screw pulsing. The Smart LOPO is used with screw feeders using one load cell and motors up to 180 w and is generally field mounted to control one feeder.  The controller serves as a single feeder operator interface.

This economic control option will appeal to processors wanting a simple, compact control choice.  The Smart LOPO controls utilized with a K2G multi-stream feeding system and Hurricane vacuum loaders offer an economic total package for feeding and vacuum refill in plastics compounding and other extrusion applications.
